A Vacuum Packing Service is a convenient solution that helps reduce the bulk of various items like clothing, bedding, and plush toys. It works by extracting air from these items and creating space-saving packages, making storage easier and shipping more cost-effective. 


Vacuum packing offers several benefits, including maximizing storage space, reducing shipping costs, and protecting items from dust, moisture, and pests. It's an excellent option for those looking to declutter, save space, or prepare items for shipping.

Q [Handling Packages] Are there any restrictions or reasons why some items may not be eligible for consolidation?

Yes, there are restrictions and reasons why certain items may not be eligible for consolidation:


Overweight or Oversize Packages: If the packages applied for consolidation are too large or heavy to fit into one parcel due to size or weight restrictions, they might be consolidated into multiple packages. Our goal is to consolidate them into as few packages as possible.


Fragile or Irregular-Shaped Items: Some packages contain items that are fragile or have irregular shapes, such as golf clubs or guitars. To ensure the safe shipment of these items, consolidation may be canceled. In such cases, we will contact you within two business days after your application.

Q [Handling Packages] Do you inspect/open packages?

ShopnShip have full discretion to open and inspect your shipments to ensure no prohibited items are being transported. 

Q [Handling Packages] What is dimensional (volumetric) weight?
A

The dimensional weight refers to the dimensions of the package and how they are used in the calculation of the weight of a package based on size rather than the measured “gross weight”. To price international shipping, carriers charge the greater of either the actual weight or DIM weight based on the size of the box. DIM weight calculations vary by carrier. Please see our Shipping Methods page for each carrier’s calculation formula.

Consolidation in package forwarding refers to the process of combining multiple packages into one shipment. This can be a cost-effective way to save on shipping fees, especially if you are purchasing multiple items from different retailers.

Q [Handling Packages] What is repacking?
A
Repacking is the process of opening and reconfiguring the original packaging of an item upon its arrival at our warehouse. The primary objective of repacking is to optimize the packaging for international shipping, with a focus on enhancing the safety of the contents and ensuring compliance with specific shipping regulations.


If the package we receive is inadequately packed, whether due to damage or unsuitability for international transportation, we will exercise our discretion to repack it free of charge. This service is provided to add an extra layer of protection and security to your items.


Additionally, we offer a paid repacking service for customers who wish to guarantee that their package undergoes repacking according to their preferences and requirements.
Q [Handling Packages] Is it possible to combine packages from different shopping sites?

Even if you purchase products through different stores, it is possible to consolidate them into one package after they arrive to our warehouse.
However, there is a possibility that we are not be able to consolidate some items, such as items that are difficult to ship in a consolidated state due to irregular shape, being fragile, or over size/weight.
Q [Handling Packages] Can I ship lithium-ion batteries?
A
No, lithium-ion batteries are prohibited due to transportation regulations. However, items with lithium-ion batteries inside brand new, unopened devices are permitted for shipment through FedEx.

Q [Handling Packages] How long can I store my package in the warehouse?
A
You can store your packages in the ShopnShip warehouse for up to 90 days.
ShopnShip will secure your purchases in your personalized locker free of charge for the first 45 days.
After 90 days ShopnShip reserves the right to destroy or otherwise dispose of your packages without incurring any liability to you or any other party whatsoever.
